Overtime (Hourly Employees)
          It is Purity Life’s policy to minimize the need for overtime. At times, overtime is necessary to fulfill our business
          needs. Overtime is defined as any hours over forty (40) hours. You must have Supervisor approval prior to working
          any overtime. This is paid at 1½ times according to the Employment Standards Act. This is a benefit Purity Life
          provides as industry standards are defined as any hours worked over 44 hours.

          Sick Time
          Hourly employees do not qualify for sick pay. Salaried employees must have Manager approved leave. Illness
          longer than three (3) days requires a doctor’s certificate. All sick time must be recorded in Payworks through the
          Time off Request system and will be monitored and approved by supervisors/managers. Salaried employees
          will be entitled to five (5) days paid sick leave per year. No carry forward or payout privileges will apply. All
          employee illnesses longer than three (3) days require a doctor’s certificate at the employee’s expense.

          Work from Home
          Salary employees working from Acton head office that have the ability to work from home in the event of a
          last minute weather or child/spouse care issue or specific project that requires uninterrupted focus, with prior
          approval from their manager, can work from home as if it were a regular office day meaning the employee is available
          by phone, email and teleconferences if need be during the regular office hours. A special code in Payworks
          (Paid Leave Salary) is available to accommodate these approvals.

          Vacation/Approval Process

          Overview
          Purity Life values the service of our employees by recognizing seniority as part of the vacation approval process.
          The following guidelines have been created to provide consistency.
          Core Requirements
          	 •	 When seniority is used in giving preference to employees, it will be applied consistently.
          	 •	 Company seniority is based upon service as a full-time employee. Casual or temporary time
          		 is not recognized in calculating seniority.
          	 •	 Seniority continues to accrue during company-approved leaves of absence.
          	 •	 Seniority is lost when employment is terminated. If an employee is rehired, seniority starts
          		 over based upon the date of rehire into a full-time position.
          Vacation (Hourly Employees)
          Vacations are important and encouraged. They provide the opportunity to enjoy a change of pace from daily
          work and routines.
          Purity Life’s vacation year runs in line with the regular calendar year.
          Vacation times are scheduled each year on a seniority basis allowing for and ensuring reasonable coverage
          at all times. For further clarity this applies to all the Operations department which consists of Receiving,
          Packing, Picking, Replenishment, Invoicing and Returns for both Vancouver and Acton. As some staff members
          may be eligible for more than two (2) weeks’ vacation, it is not always possible to grant total vacation entitlement
          at one time, without affecting departmental operations or depriving others from taking their vacations during the
          summer period. You need Director approval for greater than two (2) weeks consecutive vacation. (Please note:
          all vacation must be entered into the Payworks system a week at a time in order to accounted for properly).
          Every effort will be made to accommodate vacation requests, especially during non-peak vacation or work periods.
          If a public holiday falls within your vacation period, you will be allotted an extra day.
          All vacation is tracked and approved though our payroll system, Payworks. Prior to taking your vacation, you
          must enter a “Time off Request” through Payworks, HR Department will provide you with login access. The
          request must be approved electronically by your Manager. An email notification will be sent to you once
          the vacation request has been approved. Please note that vacation can only be taken in half day and full day
          allotments.
          It is important to note that vacation is accrued on Earnings. (Earnings are defined as: Regular Pay, overtime,
          shift premium, stats, retro and Xmas hours). Employees absent from work or working significant overtime
          will not necessarily reflect the estimates below.
