Page 34 - Jeremiah Lollipop
P. 34
The ogre very VERY reluctantly let the third goat pass, and then he
saw the fourth goat… and his mouth hung open in rapturous delight. The
fourth goat was a mountain of taste sensations. It was a meat ball
mountain of munchable morsels. It was a walking restaurant, with three
helpings of pudding. It was a gourmet’s dream. It was, it was…
It was sitting on the ogre.
He gasped, and tried to get out from under the colossal weight of the
immensely oversized bottoms, but he couldn’t move.
And so he died and the goats laughed, and Jeremiah laughed and
swallowed some bubbles, and sat up spluttering and coughing.
He saw with some sadness that his ogre and bridge had disappeared, so
he sank back into the bubbles again to see what else might be lurking in
the white hills of detergent, but his mother called to him to get out of the
bath. So he did.
