Type 1 :
Occured when the tenderer makes a mistake when putting the price for the same
item but different units, for example :
Description Unit Rate

course
2 113mm width damp proof M² RM8.00
course
For item 1, pricing errors occured. The price should be :
RM8.00 x 0.113 = RM0.94 = RM0.95
Type 2 :
Rates placed by the tenderer for similar iten is not consistent, for example :
VRC Gred 25 for Ground Beam : RM 300 / M³
VRC Gred 25 for Pad foundation : RM 350 / M³
VRC Gred 25 for Column Stump : RM 320 / M³
Rates for all kinds of item above should be same.
3. Method of Pricing
Some contractors may place prices on all items measured at a net rate (i.e.
excluding profits and overheads). Contractors may set higher prices for concrete
and brick-and-mortar work (which is likely to be completed early in the work.
4. Basic Price List
The provisions of the contract may require the contractor to attach a list price of
the materials on which it is based. This price will be used to rectify the contract
value for any temporary material costs during the contract period.
QS should review the list to ensure that the price is the current market
price of the materials and should cover the cost of delivery to the site. If
necessary QS should ask the contractor to submit the latest quotation for each
listed item.
