The Reading Ambassadors will also share best practices and success stories to encourage
regular reading. They will propose and implement innovative projects at MOC-affiliated
libraries and centers to make reading a daily habit.

The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood joined this initiative as part of its
Emirati Children's Day 2025 theme, 'The Right to Identity and National Culture.' This
theme focuses on strengthening national identity among children and youth, helping them
engage with their cultural heritage, and improving their Arabic language skills.

The council aims to connect children with their native language and encourage cultural
exchange. This also helps preserve the UAE's cultural heritage, including poetry, proverbs,
wisdom, and traditional arts, aligning with the goals of the Reading Ambassadors Initiative.

Mubarak Al Nakhi, Under-Secretary of the MOC, emphasized the MOC's commitment to
promoting reading through creative and sustainable initiatives, in line with the UAE's
vision of using reading to drive progress and development.

Al Nakhi highlighted that the UAE's leadership sees reading as essential for gaining
knowledge, advancing science, and boosting national competitiveness. He stressed that
building a reading culture is a shared responsibility that requires support from all sectors of
society.

The initiative aims to create role models who promote reading, recognize influential figures
dedicated to literacy, and share their success stories. MOC, along with the Supreme Council
for Motherhood and Childhood and the Federal Youth Authority, will fully support the
Reading Ambassadors and promote their efforts through media channels.

To further encourage reading, the Ministry will set up creative spaces in Cultural Centres
and libraries for ambassadors to showcase their projects. An annual forum will also be held
to highlight their achievements.
