control me the way he was attempting. I know he never told his family
he was the one divorcing me. After all, the Thornburg's never
divorced.
I was able to celebrate Thanksgiving for the first time in a while.
My niece, Chloe, her children, my brother-in-law, and his wife came
from Kinston to spend the holiday with me. Christine and her family
came over and it was the first time since I had moved into that house
four years earlier that it felt like a home filled with love.
I still had to be concerned with December's payroll. After
reviewing the money coming in and going out, we had to stop paying
rent just to meet payroll. We had also gotten a notice from the bimbos'
attorneys that we were going to trial in March of the next year.
By this time, I was determined to find someone to bless the house
to remove whatever spirit was in the house. Christine suggested I
attend church with her and speak with her pastor.
Christine had been attending a small non-denominational church
for a while and she was persistent with me. She kept insisting I needed
to attend church and fellowship (another Christian word I had no clue
about).
I decided to attend her church two weeks before Christmas. First,
I had to get my mind wrapped around the church set in an elementary
school. I was used to the big stained-glass churches from the Catholic
régime.
