That’s Crazy

I went to the church, probably with the wrong purpose, as always,

God would show me later. I went to the church for the sole purpose
of getting the pastor to bless my house. I heard the pastor's sermon

and I liked what I heard. Right after church service, he stood at the
door to wish the church members and visitors a good week. I

immediately felt the warmth of the congregation. It was something I

had never felt in a church before. Nadia, the sister-friend who prayed
with me when I moved back to the house, was also a member of the

          church.

I waited to get his ear. I told him I needed him to bless my house.

He flipped the script on me and told me only after he meets with me
in a counseling setting. I was like, whatever. I called him the next day

for an appointment. We met the following day. I really liked this pastor
because I knew now to look at him as a man and not place him on a

thrown, as we were taught to do with the priest and the Pope in the
Catholic Church (followed by the devastation I had seen with my

priest being tied to the sexual abuse scandal of the church).

I guess he was not expecting what he got from me. I began to

share my story, and in the middle of the story, I stopped. I realized it
was just he and I in this building alone and he had the door closed. I

said to him, "Pastor I don't know the protocol for counseling, but I

would recommend you always have another person present since I
was going through a sexual harassment lawsuit. You just never know

how the devil will stir up things, especially since you are a nice
attractive man and viewed of power." I could see he was a sincere man
