Taking Back What Is Mine

hen I found another attorney, I asked Leroy to go with me to

meet him. Leroy met me downtown and, as soon as he
arrived, I could tell he was pissy drunk. I was so embarrassed.

I felt the attorney could see his drunkenness. It was the first sign of an
increase in Leroy’s drinking and that I had a problem on my hands.

I had also found condoms in Leroy’s gym bag earlier when I was
washing clothes. I never said anything to Leroy because I wanted to

keep that information under my wing as a trump card. You see, we
never used condoms because my tubes had been tied in the previous

year.

I did not have time to deal with Leroy’s crazy issue; I had to deal

with the crazy at hand, Jerome. Besides, I needed Leroy to at least show

Jerome he could only bully me so much because I had a man in my
life. I also expected Leroy would at least have a man to man

conversation with Jerome. He never did.
