Thursday 2:45-3:45 Session: S49 PreK - 8th Level Richland B Room
Using Math Conferencing within a Guided Math Classroom
In this session, attendees will learn the structure of a math conference and how to
use it effectively with students as a form of formative assessment to guide further
instruction. Often times when we identify students within our classrooms that are
struggling with math concepts and skills, we group them with students that, on the
surface, we perceive need the same instructional scaffolds as others. Individual math
conferences, when used in a Guided Math classroom, are an integral part of digging
deeper into the foundational knowledge of students so we can begin to build the
correct scaffolds in order to bring them up to grade level.

Promethean Escape Room Experience
The Promethean Escape Room Experience challenges attendees with a series of
puzzles and riddles that must be solved in order to escape. The goal? Escaping the
room before time runs out. The escape room experience helps students build
essential collaboration and critical thinking skills. Attendees can expect to work as a
group to solve puzzles on Promethean’s immersive classroom solutions, including
the ActivPanel, ActivConnect and ClassFlow. The Promethean Escape room is limited
to 10 attendees per session.
