Second Temple. In this way, their
claim is nullified.
Fourth, what is written is better
preserved than what is not, and for
this reason Job said: “O that my
words were written down […] with
iron stylus and lead” (Job. 19:23–24)
and another said: “Then said I: ‘Lo,
I am come with the roll of a book
which is prescribed for me’” (Ps.
40:8), and God, the Exalted, said to
Moses, peace be upon him: “Write
this for a memorial in the book”
(Exod. 17:14) and said: “Write thou
these words” (Exod. 34:27); and
said to Isaiah, peace be upon him:
