And know that the first transmitters ‫ואעלם אן אצל אלנאקלין נקלו ען אותות‬
transmitted on the basis of signs ‫שאהדוהא עמלת על יד אלרסול ע"ה פי‬
that they witnessed, which were ,‫מצרים ופי סיני ופי אלמדבר ו̇כטאבה סמעוה‬
performed by the Messenger, peace ‫לאן ישראל סמעו אלחק תע' י̇כאטב אלרסול‬
be upon him, in Egypt and in Sinai ‫ הנה אנכי בא אליך‬:‫במא אעאדה עליהם כ"ק‬
and in the desert, and (on the basis '‫בעב הענן בעבור ישמע העם בדברי עמך (שמ‬
of) his speech which they heard, ‫ פה̇דא ידל עלי אן ישראל סמעו ̇כטאב‬,)9:‫יט‬
because Israel heard the True One ‫אללה תע' אליה עה"ש וענד מא גאהם ואעאד‬
address the Messenger in that he [= 41‫עליהם אלקול א ̇לדי סמעוה עלמו ותחקקו‬
Moses] repeated it to them as it is ‫ ול̇דלך קאל וגם בך יאמינו לעולם‬.‫אנה נאמן‬
said: “Lo, I come unto thee in a thick
cloud in order that the people may )9:‫(שמ' יט‬
hear when I speak with you” (Exod.
19:9). And this demonstrates that ‫̇פדלך אלדור נקלו מא סמעוה מן סידנא משה‬
Israel heard God’s speech to him, ‫הנאמן עה"ש והם אגל אלנאקלין ונקלת‬
peace be upon him, and when he ‫אגיאלהם ענהם אלי וקתנא ̇הדא ומהמא‬
came to them and repeated to them ‫אלעאלם באקי ואמר אלחק עז וגל רסולה‬
the words they had (already) heard, ‫ בתדוין מא שאהדוה‬42‫ע"ה אלסי' אלנאמן‬
they recognized it and affirmed that ‫מן אלמעגזאת ומא ארסלה אליהם בה מן‬
he was a faithful messenger. And ‫אלא̇כבאר ואלשראיע פכתב אלכל וסמאה‬
for this reason He said: “And may ‫ ויכתוב משה את התורה הזאת‬:‫ כ"ק‬,‫תורה‬
(they) also believe thee forever”
(Exod. 19:9).
And that generation transmitted
what they heard from our esteemed
Moses the faithful, peace be upon
him, and they are the most esteemed
of transmitters. The generations
after them transmitted upon their
authority until our time, and (the
transmission will continue) as long
