Dr. Mantis Abrams -

The Psychiatrist

Dr. Mantis Abrams is the mental health professional who
reported the sexual abuse allegations against Michael Jackson
to the proper authorities. He is also the doctor who Mr.
Rothman sought out for an expert opinion to help establish
the allegations against Michael Jackson. Mr. Rothman called
Dr. Abrams and presented him with a hypothetical incident,
apparently in order to gather information to aid him with his
and Dr. Chandler's plan. On July 15th, Abrams sent Mr.
Rothman a two-page letter stating that, "reasonable suspicion
exists that sexual abuse may have occurred." Dr. Abrams fur-
ther advised Mr. Rothman that if this were a real case, and not
a hypothetical case, he would be required to report the matter.
Dr. Chandler used the letter that Dr. Abrams wrote to Mr.
Rothman as a bargaining tool to start the negotiations for the
twenty million dollar demand. Another medical expert advised
that in order for a doctor to properly make a report of child
abuse, he/she would have to interview the child making the
claim. This letter was written entirely on Mr. Rothman's query
without any contact with the child in question.
It was Dr. Abrams' report to the Department of Children's
Services that sparked the investigation against Michael Jack-
son. The Department of Children's Services was obligated to
make a report of this type to the police department, and in
