Page 4 - A MEASURE OF FAITH
P. 4

David writes this passage in the psalms where he speaks of God’s unfailing love
which rests upon those who put their hope in the lord above . (Ps. 33:22) When

the believer develops the patience to wait upon the lord with hopeful expectation
this Christian will experience God’s help and security for he is a shield and
               defender.

The only way we as Christians can achieve this kind of faith is by exercising
patience when dealing with God and by developing a habit of persistence as
journey along this path of life.

None of us wants to end up like King Ahab who ran out of patience when his
enemies laid siege to the city of Samaria and he asked the question found in 2
Kings 6:33, “Why should I wait for the lord any longer”

The writer of the book of Deuteronomy insists that the faithful should develop a

firm conviction in the way the lord operates and does his things and in the
various actions God works on the earth.

In the same book we find the following emphasis by Moses the servant of God.
He urges the children of Israel to know their Lord he is God that he is a covenant
keeping God who shows his love to a thousand generations of those who love
him and keep his commands . (Deut. 7:9)

When you young King Solomon had taken over the reins of power from his
father David he was still in the prime of his youth and was obedient and
               dedicated to the lord’s service.

In the book of 1Kings 8:26 we see the young ruler making a prayer of dedication
where he speaks of the lord’s promises to his servant David his father that he

Solomon was now hoping God would bring to pass on behalf of the children of
               Israel.

Nehemiah the contemporary of Ezra the scribe gathered the remnant of the

On this solemn occasion Nehemiah reminded the Jews of their ancestor Abraham
whom God called out of Ur of the Chaldeans and changed his name from Abram

to Abraham because the lord found him faithful and a covenant was made
between him and his descendants to give the land of the Canaanites, Hittites,
