Evaluating Your Thesis Points











                             4        Evaluate the points of your thesis.










               After you construct your thesis, the next step is to evaluate your thesis
               points. Specifically, your thesis points should not overlap, should not

               be too broad, and should not be too narrow.






               Avoiding Overlap






               When two or more of your points overlap, you risk making the same

               point more than once. Evaluating the thesis for overlap means making

               sure that your points of development are distinct, separate points that

               do not cover the same territory. The following examples show thesis
               statements with overlapping points.
