Raroa Leef, Lance Corporal #802425, enlisted in the 28th Maori Battalion.
He fought and died at the battle for Monte Cassino, Italy and is buried in
Cassino War Cemetry.
Raroa; is the son of Hori Murray and Kerewai Robson, he was adopted by Ria Murray and
Wiri Riwhi Leef. Raroa’s GG Grandmother Ta Ngapaura Puatai is a sister of Te Ripi;
Rangatira o Pukepoto and Ahipara.
