The greater Vancouver region is usually defined as a haven for outdoor aficionados and foodies, and there is no question that the
region boasts one the most diverse food palettes in the world, with dishes ranging from Middle Eastern to South American. For hiking,
you can find some of the most beautiful trails in Canada at the North Shore and beyond, some recommended routes include Mt.
Garibaldi, Joffres Lake, and Grouse Grind. I would avoid the tourist traps like Capilano Suspension Bridge since they tend to be
overcrowded and filled with wannabe Instagram models/influencers, but it is still worth a quick visit if you have never been.

Aside from hiking, there are also plenty of other fun outdoor activities that are easily accessible. There is an abundance of golf courses
in the suburbs like Richmond, Burnaby, and Stanley Park. In fact, I played one of my best games (fluke) during the last day of my trip
since the weather was extremely forgiving. Kayaking and canoeing are also very popular, and you can access them easily through the
city’s multiple providers. I spent 2.5 hours kayaking off the Deep Cove for only $50 and I would say it was one of my favorite memories
of the trip. Food is something that earns the love of both the region’s residents and travelers alike, and it is not just the variety that
impresses but also the quality. Take Sushi Jin, a small and cozy Japanese sushi joint that prides itself in freshness, or Tacofino, the
Mexican inspired series of food trucks and restaurants that begun in a parking lot in Tofino in 2009. Don’t get me wrong, I love both
the quality and variety of the food in Toronto, but the West Coast has a distinctly fresher flavor in its food offerings.
