CULTURAL NORMS FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

        The faculty and staff of Renbrook School have endorsed a code of culture that includes the following tenets:

        EXPECTATIONS OF RENBROOK FACULTY

        Additionally, a faculty member at Renbrook should demonstrate:

        Maintain a good relationship with all students:
            •  articulate clear and high expectations, reinforce positive behaviors, create a strong rapport with
               students, and follow through without fail in response to negative behaviors
            •  project warmth
            •  manage class with order but without harshness
            •  understand each student individually and be able to engineer the group into a cohesive whole
            •  work well with individuals, partners, small groups, large groups
            •  treat all students equally well
            •  consistently look for the good in a student; be open to positive change in students
        Provide skills/content to students:
            •  set goals
            •  plan for outcomes
            •  adhere to curriculum
            •  individualize each learner's experience
        Keep current in one's field:
            •  use up-to-date techniques
            •  be aware of trends
            •  show interest in professional growth
            •  try new ideas
            •  attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities
            •  share with colleagues

        Meet individual/group needs:
            •  teach to many levels
            •  vary curriculum
            •  vary delivery
            •  use repertoire of strategies
            •  understand many learning styles
            •  project learning as exciting to all kinds of learners
            •  provide an environment which promotes success for all kinds of learners
