Substitute faculty will be educated about the special food allergy concerns prior to their involvement at
break or lunch.
Part B: The Returning Student
1. The School Nurse, Chief Financial Officer, and Division Head: Prior to the first day of school, these

current status of the student's food allergy and the school's management plan, and will evaluate the
need for any management plan modifications for the upcoming year. The school nurse will inform the
student's new classroom faculty (or new Upper School advisor), and director of SAGE Dining Services of
the needs and requirements during the upcoming year. The school nurse will also continue to complete

Hand Washing at Renbrook (Food Allergies and Personal Hygiene)
The School has an established effort in place to minimize the risks of food allergens transmitted throughout
our community each day.
1. Pre-moistened "Soft Cloths" are located conveniently throughout the school and are used at critical
points throughout the day.
Purell dispensers are located in the Servery, with additional supplies in classroom and
offices.
NEPOTISM POLICY
Employment of relatives in the same organization can cause actual or perceived conflicts and problems
concerning favoritism and employee morale.
It is Renbrook’s policy that relatives of personnel currently employed by the school will generally not be hired.
If a relative is considered for employment, the school will follow the same protocol as for non-relatives. If the
school determines the relative to be the best candidate and is hired, the school will prohibit a direct working
relationship between family members (i.e. supervisor/employee relationship; coworkers within the same
department or division, or any other working relationship) that the School determines may cause conflict.
For purposes of this policy, a relative is defined to include: spouses, civil union partners, parents, children,
brothers, sisters, brothers/sisters in-law, stepparents, step-brothers/sisters, stepchildren or “significant others”.
This policy is effective 8/1/2013 and those contractual employees as of that date are grandfathered.
PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
What are Professional Boundaries?
Professional Boundaries define effective and appropriate interaction between professionals and the clientele
they serve (faculty/staff and students). Boundaries exist to protect both parties.
Who is Responsible?
At Renbrook, all employees are responsible for recognizing in themselves whether they are "at risk" of crossing
boundaries and, if they are, of addressing the issue. When an individual recognizes dangerous signals
exhibited by colleagues' interactions with students, he/she should report such behavior to their supervisor or
Head of School.
