Without revealing the identity of the affected party (except as permitted by the affected party or the parents
of an affected party), the Head of School will consult with the school nurse, a physician appointed by the

LIFE THREATENING FOOD ALLERGY POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Renbrook School is dedicated to meeting and supporting the needs of students with life threatening food
allergies, and will effectively coordinate its personnel with SAGE Dining Services. Reasonable measures will be
taken to ensure that these students can function in a safe and comfortable school environment. We cannot
risk having these students go into rooms where there are—or have been—food items containing nuts or
peanuts in any form.
Food items brought to school for any reason must be free of nuts and/or peanuts in any form.
• Please read all labels and store signage with great care.
• Look for wording such as "may contain" or "made on the same machines or premises with."
• Remember, such products pose a threat due to cross-contamination and
should not be brought to school.
Five people in the Renbrook community are expected to be most involved in managing the student's food
allergy concerns:
• the Chief Financial Officer
• the school nurse
• the division head
• the student's classroom faculty (or Upper School advisor)
• the director of Food Services
Coordination among these five people (and in concert with the parent(s), the student, and the Renbrook
community) is crucial towards establishing and maintaining a safe food environment for the student.
Part A, listed below, describes how information about the new student will lead to a successful management
strategy, and Part B describes the maintenance procedure for the returning student.
