“The route across the peninsula at Dan Singkhon” was a significant communication passage in terms of trading and strategies in the array
of the Gulf of Thailand, which connected the Gulf and Prachuap Khiri Khan Province via Singkhon and Tanaosri leading to Marid Seaport.
In the past, the Tanaosri river mouth on the Andaman coast had long been a “route of culture” in sea trading until the Sukhothai, Ayutthaya and
Rattanakosin Periods. This passage was developed and connected with the area known as Prachuap Khiri Khan nowadays. In olden days, this route
went further into Koh Kong in Cambodia.
