Sourcing strategy Explanation

Single sourcing The organisation chooses one source of
supply.

Multiple sourcing The organisation chooses several
sources of supply.

Delegated sourcing The organisation chooses one supplier
and this supplier co-ordinates and works
with other suppliers to ensure the supply
requirements are fulfilled.

Parallel sourcing The organisation uses a mix of the three
approaches.
