While this was profitable for us and we successfully turned around a
handful of businesses, it was a flawed business model.
No one wants to pay fees like that long term. No matter how profitable
we made them. We created, installed and helped them implement the
tools and systems they needed to crush their competitors. We made
them self-sufficient and basically worked ourselves out of a job.
After all, our goal was to put in place simple and easy to use was to get
more business and get people coming back often and spending more.
We actually create our own demise. The better we did, the sooner were
able to thank us and let us go.
This experience made us develop a new model of marketing. We knew
we would need to provide a greater number of businesses with more
tools and resources, for a fraction of the cost. We also knew we needed
to create a role for us with each customer that would prove to be
valuable longer term for both of us.
● Our clients from the later years - The concept of our new model was
simple – Under Promise and Over Deliver.
We automated the delivery of this great system so it could be installed
in 10 times more businesses than we could ever work with as a
consulting client. We developed the systems and automation to
effectively handle 50 to 60 clients a month - instead of only 5.
The cost of $500 per month proved to be a sweet spot. Once
completed, our system (known as The Marketing Foundation) was
affordable to the majority of any business owner. To this day, we are
the only marketing firm providing all the tools a business needs, plus
tested and proven marketing and advertising, for less than $20 a day.
That doesn’t even take into account the unlimited access to the team of
experts available throughout the relationship.
