young man skang
Quote (7) :
“Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead.”
Charles Bukowski
mix of colors people in black and white
In this quote by Charles Bukowski, i show a young man skang down colorful paths.
Some are curvy, others are straight, not being hesitant which path will guide him.
On the other hand are people chosing the safe way in life and dont take risks at all
(that showing by people going up the escilator). What i did was split the collage
into two different sides, the young man skang on the colorful paths, even if some
werent as straight as he hoped, and others in black and white going up the escilla-
tor which symbolizes paths that people chose to lead. The message intended to
show in this design is that both types of people will arrive to the same place but
some will get there experiencing more on their way. Twisted around the body of
the young man is the word “take risks” spelled in arabic leers.
Happy young man
Quote (8) :
“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain”
Bob Marley
Music Notes Open layers
In this quote by Bob Marley, The main character is a young man looking very
indulged in the piece of music he is listening to and got “hit” by. For the word
“music” i added music notes in the background and a piano curving around his
body. For the phrase “hits you” i layered the young mans head into three layers and
showed the musical instument passing through these layers just as the lyrics and
music of a favorite song would. The layers that resulted of being “hit” by music are
shown here as music cd’s, one on each layer in his head. We feel the music hit a
sensive spot in us and maybe somemes a spot that is sore. Yet we enjoy the
experience and go on to listen to more. On the babkground, i have spelled the
word “string” in arabic leers and twisted them around the musical instrument.
These are the two designs that i edited
over before reaching to the final one that i
found most suitable. Aer chosing the
vibrant yellow as the background and main
color of the collage, i decided that having
more in-synch color pallee would make
more sense because i want to reflect how
the young man is feeling when he is listen-
ing to music. This way i also found the
arabic word “string” to show more vibrant-
ly.
(Found the colors here to
be pale and un-lively for
the quote.)
