DIVERS

Bottled up ready before and during all racing and practice where there is any boat with constrained
        driver/crew on the water.

Responsible for their kit – DVs, bottle, air / mask / (fins optional).
        Look-out.
        Extraction and rescue in water.

        FOR RESCUE/RECOVERY
When crash/incident shout goes up all crew to hang on! Spotter shouts site/nature of incident to
        driver and crew.

Radioman calls in to control – if obvious yellow flag situation calls this before control
                                                                                     nd
The default response is that nearest Osprey boats go to the rescue the 2 boat will manage the
                                                                                             nd
Course and proceed to the incident whilst covering the rest of the course. The 2 boat can be
Stood down by radioman of first boat.
However, it is current practise that both Osprey boats (F1) should simultaneously proceed to an
incident under yellow flag conditions as a default action rather than wait to be summoned by the
        Nearest boat.
Beware sharp spikes edges to shattered boats especially carbon fibre and fibre glass
        Beware fire
        Beware prop
When possible turn off isolating switches on the side of race boat.

PILOT IN THE WATER OR TRAPPED IN THE BOAT RESCUE.
Radioman watches out for approaching raceboats – uses yellow flag to indicate rescue
        underway/protect Osprey boat
Driver positions boat at best angle to boat and or driver in water
Decisions to drop door/use stabilising frame utilising a winch rests mainly with Osprey driver
Decision when divers leave Osprey mainly with Osprey Driver
Divers –release clips when Osprey near stationary on direction from driver
Radioman may use lifting stabilising frame utilising a winch – liaise with driver to slack/tighten
        winch
Wet Pilot recovery – ALWAYS onto longboard manipulated by Radioman/driver in boat and divers in
        water

Divers recover onto boat, door up, stabilising frame utilising a winch released/secured, door up and
        clips on.

Simultaneously pilot assessed on stretcher and medical response as deemed necessary by
Radioman eg ABC with C spine control.
Generally recovered pilot may be allowed to sit up, remove helmet by him/herself.

Driver always recovered to on-shore medical crew.

Recover longboard and any kit used I rescue form local medical team as soon as possible
Replace kit left with driver at medical evacuation point before race continues (yellow box/longboard
        etc).
