Sporting Equipment
The College has its own collection of sporting equipment for shared use. If you would like to borrow
any items, please speak to the Sports Representatives (2025 - Sasha Coorey and Declan Baker) who
have access to the Sports Cupboard (between the Bage and JCR).
Tennis Court
The tennis court can be used for tennis and other ball games. There is no formal booking system;
please share the court equitably with other students. You are welcome to invite visitors to play, but
you must be with them at all times. Please return any College sporting equipment to the Sports
cupboard when you are finished.
Table tennis and pool
The table tennis and pool tables are located in the Junior Common Room. Spare table tennis bats
and balls are kept in the Student Club’s sports cupboard (G32).
Other equipment
The College has a skeleton – “Budget Becky” – housed in the Betty Wilmott Room which serves as a
valuable learning aid for Biomedicine/Science students.
TVs with HDMI ports are available in the JCR and The Bage for your Netflix and Mario kart fix. Please
be mindful of noise late at night.
The Dining Hall is equipped with a state of the art AV system. It is available for booking requests, with
notice, via the JCH Information SharePoint. Bookings are reviewed and approved by Senior Staff.
Please respect any equipment belonging to the College and treat it as if it were your own. This
includes sharing equipment and facilities equitably with all residents in College.
Holiday residence
During the Christmas holidays and Summer break, it may be possible to accommodate some
students attending Summer School or undertaking work within their academic area. This
accommodation will be charged at the Summer residence rate of $435 per week (kitchen closed)
and is available at the discretion of the Principal and Deputy Principal.
Luggage and storage
The College has very limited storage space and recommends students make alternative
arrangements if wanting to store belongings. Companies such as BoxIT! Storage are a cheap option
for students, and they provide and collect boxes.
Luggage lift
This is in the core of the spiral staircase. When you have finished with the lift, it is important that you
close both doors; otherwise, it cannot be called to other floors. Please note that this is a luggage lift
only, and not for human transportation for safety reasons.
