11. 2 Respectful Communication
In addition to what are written in the SISC student handbook, the
following must be observed by all students:
11.2.1 Follow all SISC policies on the use of technology resources.
11.2.2 Be respectful to their classmates and teachers. Allow others to
speak, invite others to share, and respect other people’s ideas.
11.2.3 Keep their camera turned on during class sessions. It is important to
make eye contact into the camera to demonstrate commitment to
learning with their classmates and teacher.
11.2.4 Microphones are almost always on. Remember that online
classmates and teachers can hear noises in the environment such as
whispering, chewing, sneezing, and tapping pen or pencil, etc. so
please keep distractions to a minimum or mute the microphone.
11.3 General Online Etiquette
11.3.1 Avoid side conversations and multitasking.
11.3.2 Take your meals and snacks during break time; eating during class is
generally frowned upon and being in a virtual classroom is no
different.
11.3.3 When in doubt, just think what is acceptable in a regular academic
classroom and put the best virtual foot forward!
11.4 Support of Parents
Parents are expected to provide support to students during online virtual
classes by providing the gadget, internet connectivity and other support to
make learning successful.
12. REQUEST FOR SCHOOL DOCUMENTS
12.1 The school follows a Letter Grade System from Preschool to Grade 12.
The school will NOT provide an exact numerical equivalent of
students’ grade per subject. A descriptor is provided in the report card
and Transcript of Records.
