of the separated parents and with restriction from the other spouse, the
parent requesting for “parental authority’ shall present a court order
that he/she is the duly authorized parent to have the authority over the
child and thus, authorized to fetch the child from school and claim any
school record of the child. Unless the school is informed in writing
about certain legal hindrances, the school assumes that parental
authority over the child is given to both parents.
6.2 In the case of a student whose parents are both absent (e.g. working
abroad), the school will recognize the grandparent, sibling, or other
relative of the student up to fourth degree of consanguinity duly
appointed as guardian by the parents in a letter addressed to the school.
In the absence of any relative, the school will recognize as guardian the
nanny or any representative of the parent duly appointed as guardian
through a notarized Special Power of Attorney or any proof of
guardianship. Guardians must be of legal age and must have a residence
similar to or near the student.
