Farming for the future
We are extremely happy to have started our partnership with Dairy Women’s
Network earlier this year. 2021 has been a year for the world to reflect and look
at how we adopt and adapt to technology, as a life on a typical farm may have
become more demanding and complex due to people shortages. Dairy Women’s
Network has collaborated with key industry bodies to look at ways to care for
farmers through these challenges, and Lely are proud to be able to join the
team and support Dairy Women’s Network members through the journey as you
discover new ways to improve farm processes and systems for the future.
We know that farming has changed over the years. Ensuring that you have
valuable data to make informed decisions about your farm processes and
business is key. As much as we would like additional hours in the day, we are all
limited by time and that is why we have seen a great increase in the uptake of
robotics. The future is technology, and we want to ensure that you are informed
about the capabilities of equipment and the ongoing support available to you
before you make these important changes.
We also want to remind everyone that there are many stages to robotics. You may
not be looking at implementing robotics in the immediate future but preparation
is key. This means ensuring that there are such things on farm as a wide access
door, and that your shed height is a minimum height of 2.5 metres. These are
small steps that will benefit your farming team now, and
future proof for any robotics and technology you may
wish to introduce over the next few years.
At Lely, we know that dairy farming is more
than a job – for farmers around the globe it’s
a lifestyle that has been passed on from
generation to generation. It’s a rewarding
