2.4.2.4.4. Exemptions from taking the final examinations may be extended to
deserving students for exemplary academic performance. They may opt
to retain their grades.
2.4.2.4.5. Course professors/teachers should identify students with academic
difficulty such as those failing a mid-term examination, having excessive
absences, failing to submit a required paper and others, and inform them
of their class standing. Faculty members should be sympathetic to
students who seek assistance for the proper course of action to be taken
to improve their performance. They should give regular feedback to the
students.
2.4.3. Medium of Instruction
2.4.3.1. An institution adopting the Bilingual Education Policy uses Filipino and English as
media of instruction and communication. Specifically, this means that Filipino and
English shall be used as media of instruction in definite subjects taking into account
the nature of the discipline and the learners’ needs.
2.4.3.2. Faculty members are expected to express themselves fluently in English. Outside
the classroom, faculty members are encouraged to maintain conversations in
English, especially when talking to students.
2.4.4. Preparation of Course Syllabi/Other Requirements
2.4.4.1. Each College has a compilation of subject syllabi submitted by each faculty member.
Syllabi should be updated and submitted before the start of classes. Faculty
members handling the same subjects should cooperate to update the course syllabi
in terms of content and reforms.
2.4.4.2. The faculty member should be guided by the course syllabus.
2.4.5. Extension Classes
2.4.5.1. Programs can be extended to any location to serve the interests of stakeholders
without prejudice to existing programs in the campuses;
2.4.5.2. Extension classes can only be opened if the cost of operation will be shouldered by
the program’s proceeds/collection;
2.4.5.3. An extension class can only be opened when a minimum class size set are
ascertained after the enrollees should have met the admission requirements of the
University.
2.4.5.4. Proceeds from the program shall be deposited to STF and to be used as follows:
2.4.5.4.1. 90% for payment of professional services and cost of operation of the
program (electricity, rentals, etc)
2.4.5.4.2. 10% for administrative cost for the university
