“Sure, anyway they are just protection. What we really do here is find
genetically positive people, like yourself who have the chip, run a few tests with
them, offer training and can even help you stop that chip in your head from letting
Dr. Taylor see what you’re doing, but keep your powers.” Smith states.
“Most of us know how to stop him from seeing us, the less we use our
power’s full potential it can become impossible for him to find us and use us.”
Elaine eludes while looking at Smith.
“What are we even doing here, what do you need us for, you have to start
explaining Captain?” I seethe, getting restless.
Smith ignores my questions and points at the door on our right.
“They are in there, I’m guessing you two will have better luck getting their
cooperation than we did.” Smith retorts.
“What did you expect from them?” Elaine begins “Waking people up in the
middle of the night asking them to just jump in a car with a stranger isn’t exactly
courteous. Not to mention when we all refused to come with you, you attacked
us.”
“We thought because of all you guys do for the world and your morals you
would be a little kinder and understanding.” Smith breathes while rubbing his neck
“Not a bunch of assholes, I thought you guys were heroes.”
“Sometimes you put a bunch of misfits together and you get a
family. Sometimes you get a bunch of assholes.” I shrug and enter the door.
