GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
immediate effect is spiritual: conversion takes place,
holiness or departure from evil conducts – abstaining from
all appearance of evil and the popular way of the world – is
imbued in the believer. Thereafter, the believer begins to
deploy or put the grace of God on his/her life to work in all
areas of life in order to make positive and godly impact in
the society. There are many examples to share.
Zerubbabel: He was challenged by mountains
of opposition, but God’s enabling grace to
overcome and to fulfil the LORD’s purpose for
his life came into operation (Zechariah 4:6-9).
David: By the grace of God, David, a seemingly
ordinary shepherd boy, became one of the
greatest kings in the history of Israel
(Psalm 89:19-24).
Esther: In her case, Esther was a practical
home-girl who found grace to become the First
Lady in a foreign nation. She also obtained grace
(favour) to subvert the schemes of the enemy of
the Jews in that nation of their captivity
(Esther Chapters 2-10).
Paul: As for Paul, by God’s grace, this onetime
unworthy persecutor of the Church of Christ
became a master builder in God’s kingdom
(1 Corinthians 15:8-10; Galatians 1:10-24).
