Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in
you had been done in Sodom, it would have
remained until this day. But I say to you that it
shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the
day of judgment than for you.”
Two Levels of Repentance
There are two levels of repentance established in
Scriptures:
i. To Enter the Kingdom
This level of repentance is what opens the door of God’s
Kingdom for anyone: man or woman, boy or girl, rich or
poor, famous or obscure. This is the level of repentance that
John sought from the various categories of people who
came to him. In the wilderness. He gave the opportunity to
all categories of people to come into the Kingdom of God
through repentance.
This is also the door Peter opened to thousands of religious
folks on the day of Pentecost. The crowd was religious
enough to observe the rites of Pentecost, which was why
they came from several nations to worship at Jerusalem.
However, their empty religion was not enough.
Repentance was needed. It’s a similar scenario in many
churches today. There are thousands who come to our
churches and have been coming regularly for various
