Page 103 - Racing Toward Judgement
P. 103
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; if thou wilt walk
in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then
thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep
my courts, and I will give thee places to walk
among these that stand by.
(Zechariah 3:7 KJV)
When Prayer No Longer Helps
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither
lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not
hear them in the time that they cry unto me for
their trouble.
(Jeremiah 11:14 Liv)
God said He would never cut a tree down until first it
was ". . . digged about." God, in patience, says, "Give
it one more year . . . dung about it, fertilize it
maybe fruit will appear. . ." But there is an end to
God's patience, and the time comes when He says, "Cut
it down . . . it just cumbers the ground . . . useless
." (Luke 13:6-9).
The Bible gives four "states of stubbornness" that a
society reaches—and when it does, all the prayers in the
universe will not help:
1. When a society's crimes and violence go beyond the
reach of remedy.
For my people's wound is far too deep to heal.
The Lord stands ready at Jerusalem's gates to pun-
ish her.
Micah 1:9 LB
2. When the deadline is crossed and judgments are
Son of man, when the land sinneth against me
by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out
