Page 105 - Racing Toward Judgement
P. 105
Think of all the exhausted resources of reform:
Prosperity. He blessed America, hoping the goodness
of God would lead us to repentance.
Prophets. Billy Graham, and a host of lesser-known
men of God. All warning of judgment. All crying, "Get
your house in order."
Threatenings. The Depression in the 1930s was a
small threat. Small quakes, tornadoes, and upheaval in
nature. God is warning.
Outpourings. Thousands revived. A Jesus Movement.
A day of visitation. The masses reject!
Removal of Supports. One by one, God has removed
supports of our lifestyle. Trusted institutions are in dis-
array. Even leaders are no longer trusted. Yet the more
supports God removes, the harder men's hearts grow.
Secular Warnings. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Toffier,
Pauling, Browne, Cousins, Valery Giscard d'Estaing,
and an ever-growing list of nonreligious prophets—all
warning of impending judgment. Yet society shakes it
all off.
The alarm has sounded—listen and fear! For I,
the Lord, am sending disaster into your land. But
always, first of all, I warn you through my proph-
ets. This I now have done. The Lion has roared—
tremble in fear. The Lord God has sounded your
doom—I dare not refuse to proclaim it.
(Amos 3:6-8 LB)
God has no other resources left. He has tried every-
thing. Judgment is the only weapon left. America is sin-
ning a sin which could be unto death. Soon, unless we re-
pent praying for America will be like praying for the dead.
"There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray
font" (l John 5:16KJv)
