longer helping—that He is no longer protecting you.
What is needed to counteract that fear is a transfusion
of confidence that comes from hearing and believing
the Word of God. Joyful Christians are the most believ-
ing, the most receiving, the most hopeful of all. We are
too often so terrified by the feelings of the wrath and
judgment of God that we cannot enjoy the laughter and
joy of being safe in Jesus. The fact is, the joy of the
Lord is our strength. If you have no joy in this troubled
time, you have no strength to face it.
Trusting God to deliver you is just sanctified com-
mon sense. The result of faith is its best argument.
Blessings and answers come not just to a few who trust,
but to all who trust! To trust is to "sit like a moun-
tain"—strong and immovable, awaiting the salvation of
the Lord. It's a good way of living and a better way of
dying.
I know God has set boundaries on all the suffering
and troubles of His children. He will never allow His
own to be pushed or harassed to an unbearable ex-
treme. God will deliver us from the hour of tribula-
tion—but subject to Holy Ghost timing. We are often
afflicted with what I call "the sin of suddenness." We
want God to work for us according to our schedule,
even if we are not ripe to receive. Deliverance from
hunger, from fear, from calamity, from violence—from
all evil—is sure. But don't spend time figuring out how
God will work it out. That is all in His hand.
God is employed! He delivers me! Why not let Him
finish His delivering work in all of us?
5. Stormproof
If society is breaking down and the economy is fall-
ing apart, it makes not one iota of difference to the be-
lieving child of God. We are stormproof. Inflation, re-
cession, illness, or privation, or suffering or any horrible
period of troubled times—none of these things can
