Page 140 - Racing Toward Judgement

tians have been trying to say ever since the first warn-
ings were sounded: "The bad news is really good
news!" A paradox? No! Those who believe the Bible
understood that all these things must conie to pass be-
fore the end comes. Christians rejoice because all the
bad news is a series of signposts clearly marked out on
their roadmap to eternity. Each terrifying event more
clearly pinpoints our position down the homestretch.
The Bible says when darkness overtakes us, God's
light will come bursting in. Listen to it:
When darkness overtakes him, light will come
bursting in. He is kind and merciful—and all goes
well for the generous man who conducts his busi-
ness fairly. Such a man will not be overthrown by
evil circumstances. God's constant care of him will
make a deep impression on all who see it. He does
not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may
happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah
will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid,
but can calmly face his foes. He gives generously
to those in need. His deeds will never be forgotten.
He shall have influence and honor.
(Psalms 112:4-9 LB)
God never sleeps and He is always watching. He told
us His eye is on the righteous and His ear is open to
their cry. Bad news got you down? Worried about slip-
ping or getting hurt? Troubled about the coming vio-
lence and unemployment? Then listen to this:
He will never let me stumble, slip or fall. For he
is always watching, never sleeping. Jehovah him-
self is caring for you! He is your defender. He
protects you day and night. He keeps you from all
evil, and preserves your life. He keeps his eye
upon you as you come and go, and always guards
(Psalms 121:3-8 LB)
