the earth like an enraged lion, and millions face starva-
tion. The world economy is so jittery, almost any ex-
ploding fear crisis could trigger collapse. Armageddon
looms on the horizon. A nation that can't cope with
handguns, heroin, or pornography will not be able to
cope with hydrogen bombs in the hands of radicals.
With the ghosts of depression, unemployment, anarchy,
and moral depravity lingering in the shadows, there ap-
pears to be very little to be cheerful about!
But, I am a Christian—and that makes all the differ-
ence in the world in how I look at the events of today
and the dangers of the future. Any genuine Christian
will be infected by fear and depression if he feeds only
on the bad news coming at him from all directions. It is
one thing to stay well informed, but it is dangerous to
live on a diet of despair, gloom, and fear. The Christian
who lives his life looking for Christ's appearing will
gladly receive all warnings, visions, and prophecies that
are scripturally sound. But warnings to "flee from the
wrath of God" are for sinners, not Christians. And God
will not allow any true shepherd to frighten His flock
with false messages designed only to strike fear in their
hearts.
There is a new flood of visions, dreams, predictions,
dire warnings, and prophecies. Ministers and mystics
alike are now jumping on the apocalyptic bandwagon,
and the result is an avalanche of fearmongering and
false hope.
There is an easy solution to the problem of discerning
which message is right and which is wrong. The only
message for overcoming, victorious Christians is that
which proclaims deliverance and hope!
Through all true visions, prophecies, or warnings,
this message must come through clear and certain:
"God has everything under control, and His people
have nothing to fear." Those who know where they
stand with the Lord can rejoice with every trumpet
