consists in attempting to keep the mind intentionally and continuously occupied with
peaceful, graceful, cheerful, harmonious and constructive thoughts. Normally, Man does
experience good glorifying, enjoyable events in his life and also witnesses many happy,
cheerful occasions during his life time. Hence, thinking blissfully, is to make sincere
efforts to keep the mind occupied with memories of pious, gratifying, joyous and cheerful
events and occasions. Briefly, Man must make genuine efforts to constantly hold good
thoughts in his mind.
Result of thinking Blissfully
The result of thinking blissfully is that, the mind is influenced and filled with
harmonious, joyful, cheerful and peaceful thoughts, while at the same time, it shuts the
doors, of the mind, to all the troublesome, annoying and undesirable thoughts.
Simultaneously, it is also helpful and beneficial if Man involves himself in adoration of
God as well as in divine meditation. The appropriate significance and implication of the
adoration of God and divine meditation is that, Man must humbly surrender to God and
remain ever grateful to him. Similarly, from the bottom of his heart, Man must sincerely
thank God for whatever good and beneficial things he receives in his life and also
remember with gratitude all those people who have extended co-operation to him,
helped him and became instrumental in helping him achieve his desired objectives. The
following statement of an English author is worth noting in this context.
"Think of all you have to be grateful for and Thank God for all your boons and
bounties."
It is therefore important to understand that contemplation on such blissful
thoughts and meditation on the divinity within, penetrates from the conscious mind into
the subconscious mind, takes root there and in course of time, becomes responsible for
creating the same type of favourable circumstances and cheerful atmosphere in Man's
life. In this context Dale Carnegie, an American author significantly states,
"The biggest problem, in fact, the only problem Man has to deal with, is choosing
the right thoughts. If you can do this, you will be on the high road to solving all your
problems.''
So also, there is an important art doctrine of JEEVANVIDYA which states,
"The faculty of contemplation is a mighty power that can transform life into a
paradise or can even convert it into a barren desert."
In this context, an interesting event in the life of American President, George
Washington is very illustrative. Washington was a peon in a school in his younger days
