Q 1 & 12. Classification of HOER
A) Intensive: Work which is hard and tiresome, continuous concentration during work,
very difficult to have 1 hours rest time in a 8 hour shift come under Intensive category.
Eg: Section Controller, Wireless Operator, Telephone Operator, etc.
B) Essentially Intermittent: Light job, 6 hours or more rest in a 12 hour shift come under
Essentially Intermittent category. Eg., Bearer of waiting hall, Gateman (C Class),
safaiwalla, etc.
C) Excluded: Duty timing is not fixed. 24 hours duty not included in HOER. Eg.
Supervisor, matron, workers in confidential work, Protection Force, etc.
D) Continuous: Continuous working. Eg. Driver, Guard, TTE, Shunter, Clerk, Typist and
other non classified categories.
