M.A.D CLUB
“Make A Difference”
The MAD (Make A Difference) Youth Education Project welcomes their new Youth
Education Coordinator Hugh Delahunty to the team. Hugh started with us in late March
2020 at the beginning of the country’s lockdown. Hugh is currently working remotely
settling into his new role. As these times are uncertain Hugh and the rest of the MAD Club
team are monitoring the recent developments in relation to the lockdown and the effect of
Covid-19 on our exam tutoring support and summer programme. Due to this uncertainty
Hugh is going to focus April and May on the following:
Getting to know the Leaving Cert Members and their parents/ guardians to work together on
how we can support them throughout this uncertain circumstance.
Properly introducing himself to get to know the MAD club members and engage with them
and their families through social media, video calls and hosting interactive activities.
Explore contingency plans for activities to facilitate throughout the summer of 2020 that
may be in house e.g. utilising the member’s youth café or external e.g. excursion/ trip away.
During this time Hugh will be getting in touch with the Parents/ Guardians of our members
to arrange a point of contact with them along with the hope to organise inclusive interactive
online activities while the restriction measures to combat Covid-19 are in place.
We thank all the members and their families in this unusual time Keep in touch and stay
safe.
