Vice Chancellor meets physically-challenged
students; pledges to provide all facilities
he GCU Lahore is alma mater of the highest number of visually-impaired and physically-challenged students as
compared to any other university of the country and has a state-of-the-art Centre for Special Students (GCU CSS), said
TVice Chancellor Professor Dr. Asghar Zaidi while chairing a meeting with the physically-challenged students.
The Vice Chancellor reviewed the facilities being provided to the visually-impaired students at GCU. He said that the white cane
should not be taken a symbol of weakness, rather, it is a symbol of safety, mobility, resistance and independence of every
visually challenged individual. Prof. Zaidi pledged that said that GCU CSS would facilitate visually-impaired students in every
possible manner with latest reading and hearing facilities which include, computer with reader (screen reading
programmes/software) which enabled them to hear the text which is shown on the computer screen. This software allows blind
students to access the internet, web browsing and book reading.

and personal life, Inzamam-ul-Haq motivated the
students to alter their ways of life in accordance with
the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and
be proud of their heritage and Muslim identity. He
emphasized the role of self-discipline, harmony, and
active creation of a peaceful environment for ultimate
success.
Prior to the lecture, Inzamam-ul-Haq with Vice
Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi where talked the
golden memories of his college days.
MoU signed with Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning

Thave signed a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) for the cooperation in research in different
areas especially to improve the health and well-being
of people with mental health difficulties.
GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi and
Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning CEO Prof. Dr.
Nasim Chaudhry signed the eight-point accord at a
graceful ceremony organized by the GCU Directorate
of Academic Planning and External Links (AP&EL) at
the University's Vice Chancellor Office.
Both the institutions have also agreed to launch a joint
seminars, training and conferences about the role of
capital markets in world economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr.
Asghar Zaidi said universities must capitalize
opportunities to provide applied skills and technical
knowledge to its students.
