5. Discuss five issues in designing e-learning to teach
procedures.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the decision procedures?
Decision procedures are made up of two or more linear
procedural sequences. A decision procedure is like a flow
chart. The employee must make a decision that will lead her
to continue to either sequence X or sequence Y
2. What is the difference between learning procedures of the
remember and application levels?
In order to apply a procedure the first time, the employee
needs access to the steps. However, memorization of steps is
generally a waste of time. You want the employee to perform
the procedure—not memorize steps. Therefore, quickly
move your instruction to the application level
3. How to teach procedures in the classroom?
In instructor-led face-to-face environments, learners will
typically have a record of the steps in a training manual, view
an instructor demonstration, and practice the steps in a hands-
on mode using whatever equipment is involved in completing
the procedure
4. What is the other name called for the self-study e-learning?
Asynchronous
5. e-learning
6. What is the best evaluation on learning of procedures?
The best way to do this for procedural learning is through a
performance or hands-on test. Judge procedural learning by
evaluating an end-product of the procedure or by direct
observation of the performance
