HEALTH & SAFETY AT WORK
Objective
This policy defines the responsibilities of the Company and employees to maintain a healthy and safe work
environment in the organization. It also aims at ensuring that the Law of the Land is observed at work at
all times, accordingly strict disciplinary action will be taken for smoking in undesignated smoking areas in
office, misuse of drugs or consumption of alcohol while at work.
Details
1. All employees have the right to a healthy and safe workplace in which individual and organizational
objectives can be met. The Company will take the necessary steps to prevent any personal injury and
damage to property and protect employees from any form of work hazards.
2. A healthy and safe work environment can only be achieved by the combined effort of the employees,
management and other related parties.
Scope
All employees of IPSOS in UAE are covered by this policy.
I – Company’s Responsibilities for Health and Safety measures
3. In compliance with the UAE Labour Law and as a responsible organization, the Company will ensure:
• Setting the health and safety norms and standards as well as the procedures and practices governing
them,
• Acquainting all employees, contractors and visitors with health and safety procedures,
• Providing appropriate safety gear to employees as per their job requirements,
• Providing adequate training, information, instructions and supervision,
• Ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and tools are in good working conditions,
• Ensuring that all hazardous substances are stored in accordance with safety standards and norms,
and
• Promptly investigating any accidents or dangerous situations to rectify the risk.
II- Responsibilities of employees for Health and Safety measures
4. Employees must cooperate and ensure:
• Performing duties in a way that would ensure their safety and the safety of others,
• Complying with the health and safety policy set by the Company,
• Not misusing any safety equipment or gear provided by the Company,
• Reporting to management any hazardous situation, equipment or material, and
• Abstaining from undertaking any tasks that they are not qualified to perform.
