THE POWER OF TAKING THE PLUNGE

I once heard a story told that was supposedly
true about a man whose wife would always cut
the end of the meat when she cooked a pot
roast. The husband had never seen this type of
culinary art, so he asked his wife why she did it.

Her response was that she learned it from her
mother. The man happened to be at his
mother-in-law’s house one day and he asked her
the same question. “Mom, why do you cut the
ends off the pot roast?” To his surprise, she
said, “That’s what my mom always did.” The
man remained unsatisfied, so he went to the
grandmother and asked her, “Grandma, why do
you cut the ends off your pot roast?” The
               grandmother clearly exclaimed, “Because it
               won’t fit in the pan.”

Your perception of the world is a consequence

of your acquired beliefs. And your beliefs are
the result of a learning process, not a reflection
               of reality.

Some people see a situation a certain way and
they feel they only have one real option in how
to proceed. As a result of this belief, they keep
banging their head against the same wall over
