P. 90

I have had three of my staff, my best staff, working on this and to be frank, there are so many layers
that we think the time and effort spent on trying to discover the original source would be a waste.
The money could have originated in America, China or even Pakistan but as the money has been
paid into an account in the name of Edward Alladyce and a suspected Russian informer has been
assuming that identity, then I think it would be safe to assume the money started life as Roubles in
Russia, Belarus or Tajikistan, probably all three.’

Malcolm thanked Thomas for his contribution and continued.

‘As I say, he received the directive and immediately visited the private bank G.H.Thorpes.
He also paid a second visit one week later although we are not aware that he received a second
directive. Because we aware of the FBI interest we have refrained from actively investigating his
motives for visiting the bank on these occasions but thanks to Oliver and his team, what we do
know is the account has been drained.

Edward Alladyce alias Francisco, Alfredo, Maria de Angeles Delgado, a senior member of the CIA,
has been the recipient of seven million dollars supplied by Russia and has secreted it.’

The D.D.G. thanked Malcolm and closed the meeting.

‘Well gentlemen, as you can see, the who is clear, Russia provided the money, the where of
Svetlana Aliyeva is probably Brazil but the why we will have to leave to the FBI for now. If I am
correct then Delgado will be lifted soon. That does not mean we have to take our eyes off the ball.
Observation will continue but remember, it will be the FBI lifting Delgado, not us. They have the
complete case against him so, continue your excellent work but on tippy toes, gentlemen please,
            tippy toes.’
