March 21
It’s game day tomorrow. Mom and I will be heading to Kaiser, San Francisco
to see Dr. Phan for the first time, since the removal of my eye plaque on
th
December 12 . I can’t believe the day is finally here. It’s been a long
haul. I’ve had a hard time sleeping, because I'm so nervous about how things
were going to go. I just need stay positive and be thankful for where I’m
at. I’m just thankful I'd followed my instinct to go see Dr. Phan when I did.

I had another rough night of sleeping. Thinking about today was taking its
toll. Here we go! Fingers are crossed. Let’s have some good news.

First, the tech gave me an eye test. My eye site in my left (good eye) was
somewhere around 20/25. The eye site in my right (bad eye) was 20/30 –
20/60. I was wondering if things had gotten worse. To my surprise, after the
test, the technician said both eyes were 20/20! I couldn’t believe it. I said,
"Are you sure?" She said, "Yes." My eyes got better? That’s crazy! She
seemed a little shocked too.
Next, the technician put dilating drops in both my eyes so they could do the
next several tests. She then lead me out of that room and down the hall to the
next area of testing. I had to wait about 20 minutes while my eyes
