August 28th-- Commissioner Spencer R. Moore, Deputy Commissioner Ricky Rich, Regulatory Compliance
Division Director Kecia Bivins, and Governmental Affairs & Communications Division Director Mike
Mitchell attended the first of four scheduled meetings of the House Distracted Driving Study Committee
at the Georgia State Capitol.
DDS, along with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Georgia Department of Public Safety, and
numerous other highway safety stakeholders are represented and will play a critical role in determining
what legislative changes might be warranted during the upcoming legislative session in order to stem
growing concerns of distracted driving on Georgia’s roadways.
The study committee will meet again on September 25th at the Central Georgia Technical College in
Warner Robins, where DDS and other public safety representatives are scheduled to present.
