QUESTION: What year did DDS begin using the
SAVE system in order to verify immigration
documents?
The ANSWER is: 2007
DDS began verifying immigration documents
through SAVE in 2007. Initially, it was a web-
based application that was labor intensive
and required examiners to work between two
environments--mainframe and internet. In
2008, however, the process was integrated
into the issuance process, greatly enhancing
customer service.
