October is
Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month
October 2019 is Medical Ultrasound Awareness
Month! Thanks to this month long campaign
we’re able to celebrate the extraordinary
contribution medical sonography provides to
modern medicine. With ultrasound’s increasing
role in medicine, one of the main goals of the
campaign is to provide the public with a better
understanding of what ultrasound is, its many
uses in health care, and to guide them toward
locating and utilizing the best ultrasound
practitioners and resources available.
Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Week
October 6-12, 2019
Celebrated during the first full week of October, Nuclear
Medicine Week encourages community members to take pride
in their profession – recognizing their colleagues for their hard
work and promoting nuclear medicine to the entire medical
community as well as to the public. Nuclear Medicine Week
allows physicians, technologists, scientists, and others involved
in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging to take a proactive
role in the advancement of the field. From advances in cancer
diagnosis and treatment to recent breakthroughs in Alzheimer's
and dementia research, nuclear medicine is improving lives—
and it is up to us to educate others on these major healthcare
innovations.
National PA Week
October 6-12, 2019
Every year from October 6-12, we celebrate PA Week,
which recognizes the PA profession and its
contributions to the nation’s health. This week is also
an opportunity to raise awareness and visibility of the
profession. Before it was a weeklong event, National
PA Day was first celebrated on October 6, 1987, in
honor of the 20th anniversary of the first graduating
class of PAs from the Duke University PA program.
This #PAweek, let’s celebrate all that PAs do!
