NEED FOR DISMANTLING

The North-South alignment of
Metro Rail is also passing through
the same section where the
flyover at Chhatrapati Square is
located. During deliberations with
the NHAI officials, it was informed
by NHAI that they have planned
to dismantle the said flyover and
have a proposal to construct a
flyover between Hotel Pride and
Ajani Square i.e. for a length of
about 3.4kms.

Further, a meeting which was
chaired by the Hon’ble Minister
RTH&S on 03.03.2016 was
conducted wherein it was
decided that in the portion where
Metro Rail and Flyover share the
same route of way, they should
be constructed on a common pier
akin to the one provided in Jaipur
City so as to insure cost saving
from economical design as well as
better aesthetics. It was further
deliberated that if both the
facilities are planned on a single
pier then there may be more cost
saving in both the projects and
the whole project is to be
implemented by the same agency
i.e. Nagpur Metro Rail
Corporation Limited (NMRCL) for
effective coordination and with
cost sharing between NHAI and
NMRCL.
