NEED FOR DISMANTLING

Thus, for the reconstruction of Double Decker bridge, to ease the traffic congestion
and to beautify Nagpur city, the dismantling of existing bridge was unavoidable. As the
flyover is no longer required and a new flyover is being constructed on the same
location, NMRCL had requested that NHAI should demolish the same at the earliest.
NHAI in reply to NMRCL’s letter requested that in case of urgency, NMRCL may
themselves take up this demolition work. Finally, NMRCL took up a lead to demolish
this celebrity bridge in order to create space for Manjhee Metro Double decker.

The work of design & drawing for super structure was allotted to M/s L&T and tender
for construction of double decker bridge (which also includes dismantling work) was
called after following all the prescribed norms and the work was allotted to M/s NCC
Ltd, Mumbai vide L.O.A No NIC/11/2016/LOA/145(Pr) dated 12.10.2016. And in this
way, history was about to be created and the golden dream of Nagpurians started to
become a colorful reality.

Avoid traffic congestion/point of collision at 04 lane NHAI flyover on
Wardha road.
